[AU version] Series he's from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. Age: 16. Background & personality info: Syaoran was created by Fei Wong Reed, a copy of a boy named Syaoran the wizard’d kidnapped. The purpose of this Syaoran’s life was to gather Sakura’s feathers once they were released, but the real Syaoran, knowing of FWR’s plans and in an attempt to stop him, copied half of his heart and gave it to his replica, sealing it into his right eye with magic. Because of this, the real Syaoran lost half of his powers and FWR could seal him away. Meanwhile, the copy of Syaoran was left in Clow Country, where he woke up, his eye bandaged, not remembering anything about himself. He was found by an archeologist named Fujitaka, who adopted him as his own son, and named him. When Fujitaka goes meet the king of the country, Clow, Syaoran meets princess Sakura, a girl of his age. They would become friends almost immediately. Sakura gave Syaoran a birthday, taught him lots of things, like how to thank her father for worrying about him instead of apologizing, etc. They’d soon both fall in love with each other, but because of Syaoran’s job, and Sakura’s brother’s over-protecting, they wouldn’t be able to see each other lots. Years later, in a day when Sakura was determined to finally declare her love to Syaoran, they both meet in the giant ruins of the country. In a very confusing incident, Sakura would lose her ‘wings’, a representation of her memories, soul, and her powers. With Sakura in danger of dying, Syaoran and her are sent by the priest Yukito to see the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko Ichihara, to help them. Syaoran’s determined to save Sakura no matter what, and for this, he’s helped by two people of other worlds, Kurogane and Fye. The price for the wishes of the three of them is too heavy, but if they all paid together, they would be able to borrow Mokona, a little creature that’d help them travel through dimensions. What Syaoran has to pay is his ‘relationship’ with Sakura- he’ll have to travel to find her feathers again in order to save her, but even if Sakura gained all her memories back, she wouldn’t ever remember him. Even so, Syaoran agrees. The four of them, plus Mokona, start a long journey in which they’d fight against different people and monsters, meet new friends, make new enemies, learn stuff about each other’s past, and become close friends with each other. They’d all be rather happy until they arrive to Tokyo country. Here, the seal in Syaoran’s eye would finally disappear, causing him to become the heartless machine he had been born as. As the real ‘Syaoran’ was traveling through dimensions to get to Tokyo and stop him, Syaoran was busy trying to get the feather that was inside the pool Kamui was protecting. While he’s fighting Kamui, Fye gets involved, and tries to stop Syaoran. He gathers the half-heart that Syaoran had lost, and attempts to return it to him. For that, he lets Syaoran rip off his eye (something he wanted for the magic it contained). After eating it to obtain Fye’s magic, Syaoran does indeed recover his heart… Waking up to find the real Syaoran arriving, Fye about to die, and Sakura crying desperately as she woke up from the dream she’d fallen into. Kurogane makes a deal with Yuuko and saves Fye’s life, since there wasn’t a way to give Fye’s eye back to him that didn’t involve ripping it off Syaoran as well, something Fye refused to allow. After the real Syaoran explained the circumstances of his and Syaoran’s past to him and Sakura, and once Sakura had gone on her mission to get the egg Yuuko had asked for, Syaoran finally allows himself to rest for a moment. Which is the point I’m taking him from~ Syaoran’s most dominating trait is his determination. He’s extremely polite, doesn’t like to worry others, is a bit awkward, quite naive, and very gullible. He’s blind in his right eye, something that made him bump into things and get hurt often when he was little. Even so, he knows how to fight rather well thanks to his training with a man called Seishirou when he was younger, using a style that mainly consists of different ways of kicking. He later learns how to use a sword thanks to Kurogane, and also how to avoid attacks better (his reflects used to be uneven for his right and left side, mainly because he relied on vision for one side and not for the other). He’s basically a nice, happy, strong boy, even after his best friend/love interest Sakura forgets about him. He still smiles for her as much as he can, and is always protecting her. He loves discovering new things, and his job as an archeologist. A great fan of history and books, he hates the idea of any sort of valuable item such as statues or ruins or similar things getting destroyed (he once tells how he broke a statue as a little kid and is absolutely distressed while remembering it). He also can’t wink, for some reason. Because of the modifications for the AU version, this Syaoran is also a lot quieter, now aware of what his true nature really is. He feels a lot of guilt, having cost Fye one eye and thus (at least he thinks this is the case) forcing Kurogane to bond with the magician through his deal with Yuuko. | ||||
